  • Paraguay Educa

This Paraguayan association, founded in 2008, aims to promote technological development in the country and to implement the international model “one-to-one” (one computer for every child).

February 2010: we have been asked to translate a document from Spanish into English.

This association deals with a nursery school that is based on Waldorf teaching.

A Portuguese association based on Waldorf teaching.

  • Asociación de Centros Educativos Waldorf

A worldwide association of Waldorf Schools have included the following language combinations: Spanish into English, French and German.

Date of project: March 2010.

  • Detectlang

Translation into English for Detectlang, an open source automatic translation tool that can identify a language from a database of 60 different languages.

  • Fundación Medicina Solidaria

Translation into English. The Foundation’s mission is the fight against cardiovascular diseases in developing countries.

  • Foro Internacional de Mujeres Indígenas

This is a network of leading indigenous women who work within networks of local, national and regional organisations in Asia, Africa and America.

June 2010: translations into English.

  • Miel Maya Honing

This Belgian association supports the honey-making industries in Mexico and Guatemala through development projects, as well as working to raise awareness among the general public in Belgium of the need for fair trade.

July 2010: we have been asked to help with translations from French into English.

  • Intersos

This Italian association, established in 1992, provides support for victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Its goals are to:

•    Immediately respond to humanitarian crises such as armed conflicts, droughts and famines by taking emergency supplies to victims.
•    Promote a return to normal life by encouraging dialogue, reconstruction and growth.
•    Encourage Italian society to get involved in spreading a culture of solidarity and international justice.

July 2010: we have been asked to help with translations from Italian into English.

  • Informationszentrum 3.Welt

This is an organisation that publishes an independent magazine 6 times a year which deals with themes like globalisation, emigration and immigration, racism, development policies and theories, literature, music as well as social movements.

August 2010: translation from German into English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. We are still looking for someone who can translate into Swahili.

  • Ponlecaraalcomerciojusto – (SETEM)

Their aim is to reach a wider audience and inform people about fair trade and its social and environmental benefits.

September 2010: translations form Spanish into English.

  • Bezev e.V.

This German education and information centre works to improve quality of life for people with disabilities, particularly in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It aims to mediate between the academic theory of Special Educational Needs and the practice of development cooperation. It also lobbies for people with disabilities to be involved in development policy.

This association, founded in Nigeria in 2009, aims to help Africans to tell their stories through photography and art.

November 2010: we have been asked to help with translations from German into English.

  • Dreikönigsaktion Hilfswerk der Katholischen Jungschar

This association is the largest children’s organisation in Austria and supports the educational work of other development organisations in Austria, as well as collaborating with several national and international NGOs. It aims to inform people in Austria about living conditions and human rights violations in Third World countries and unfair economic and political structures.

November 2010: we have been asked to translate a document from German into English.

  • Groupe Communitaire l´Itinéraire

This Canadian association, founded in Montréal in 1989, develops projects to improve living conditions for the homeless, including those addicted to alcohol or drugs. The association aims to develop their skills and creativity to enable them to live independently.

November 2010: we have been asked to translate a document from French into English.

  • Asia Onlus

This Italian association, founded in 1988, aims to preserve the Tibetan language and culture in the face of threats from China and to ensure economic, social and cultural development for Tibetans in China, as well as refugees in India and Nepal.

December 2010: we have been asked to translate a text from Italian into English.

  • Associació d’Acció Social DISCAN

This Catalan association aims to promote the autonomy of disabled people in order to facilitate their integration into society and employment

December 2010: we have been asked to translate a document from Spanish into English.

  • Free and Genial

This was an initiative to create a valuation system for ecological products.

December 2010: we have been asked to help with translations from Spanish into English.

  • Aldeas Infantiles

August 2010: translations into Spanish for an international organisation that helps children in need, offering them a home and a future, as well as helping vulnerable families to strengthen themselves.

  • Gizmo’s Freeware Techsupport

Translation into Spanish for this open source project that provides information on freeware (free programs and applications) available online. Date of project: February 2010

  • Waldorf Azores

March 2010: translations into Spanish for this Portuguese association based on Waldorf teaching.

  • Fondazione Luchetta

Translation into Spanish for this foundation that helps severely ill children and their families by offering them a home to stay in. Not only do they operate in Italy, but also in many areas of the world stricken by poverty and war. Date of project: March 2010

Translation from English into Spanish. An international organisation that acts as a “catalyst” for change through the identification and analysis of the crucial problems facing humanity. Date of project: April 2010

  • Ideas

Iniciativas de Economía Alternativa y Solidaria. Alternative and Supportive Economy Initiatives is a fair trade organisation whose mission is to transform the economic and social environment in order to build a fairer and more sustainable world, developing fair trade, economic support and responsible consumption initiatives. We help this association by translating from English into Spanish. Dates of projects: April, May and June 2010

  • Kinderland Brasilien

We have translated from German into Spanish for this association that deals with helping Brazilian children and youths who live in inhumane conditions. Date of project: June 2010

This association, founded in 2005, promotes and supports the development of a critical discourse on the visual arts in Africa. Its aims are to:

•    Create high-quality resources on art in Africa for educational and professional purposes.
•    Provide a platform for debate on art and art history in Africa.
•    Act as a point of contact between scholars and art practitioners in Africa and abroad.

  • Fondation Nicholas Houlot

This French foundation, created in 1990, fights for the environment and for human beings, particularly seeking to carry out actions in order to raise awareness about climate change but also to combat it.

Date of project: November 2010

  • Children of the Andes Project

This association helps disadvantaged children in Peru.

Date of project: October 2010.

  • Atzvara Arrels

Translation into Arabic, Bulgarian and Russian. Atzavara Arrels was founded in the Spanish town of Tortosa, Tarragona, in 2000. It helps promote integration, diversity and cultural exchange as well as helping people at risk of social exclusion.

  • Movimiento por la Paz

We have been collaborating with Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL) almost from our beginnings. This NGO is a Development, Social Action and Humanitarian Action organisation with a long history that was established in 1983. From the start, we have mostly completed translations from Spanish into French, as well as yearly interpretation services in those language combinations.

May 2010: Tranaslation proyect involving various languages (over 13,000 words).

AFRICauga is a project particular to the city of Zaragoza which arose from concern about the poverty situation which the African continent is suffering and particularly from the difficulty in accessing water and poor sanitation faced by the African population.

September 2010: we translated from Spanish into French for them.

Collaboration with this English association which operates in Africa supporting development projects, education and hygiene and sanitation, all of which encourage the development of economic activities and support inclusion and professional training for women and girls. They are currently fighting to build a training centre.

  • Shelterbox

An international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. Inside the boxes they provide are tents, supplies and a survival kit.
